Representación de gráficos estadísticos un estudio con estudiantes de grado 8° de básica secundaria

Abstract

El presente trabajo de investigación tiene por objetivo describir y conocer que dificultades presentan los estudiantes de grado octavo de la Institución Educativa Diocesana Jesús Adolescente para leer e interpretar gráficas estadísticas. Usamos una metodología de investigación cualitativa pues nos interesa describir cuales son las dificultades que presentan al leer e interpretar gráficas estadísticas. En nuestro trabajo tomamos como marco los niveles de lectura propuestos por Curcio (1987) para identificar la lectura que realizan los estudiantes sobre información presentada en tablas o gráficos de barras. También consideramos a modo de conclusión que los estudiantes poseen un nivel muy elemental de conocimientos estadísticos, no alcanzan a empoderarse de los conocimientos básicos y específicos orientados por los estándares en el área de matemáticas en el pensamiento aleatorio y no manejan los saberes claves que determinan los DBA de acuerdo con el grado octavo ni los de los grados anteriores.

The objective of this research is to describe and know what difficulties eighth grade students of the Adolescent Diocesan Educational Institution present to read and interpret statistical graphs. We use a qualitative research methodology because we are interested in describing the difficulties that arise when reading and interpreting statistical graphs. In our work, we take as a framework the reading levels proposed by Curcio (1987) to identify the reading that students make about information presented in tables or bar graphs. We also consider as a conclusion that students have a very elementary level of statistical knowledge, do not achieve to be empowered by the basic and specific knowledge guided by the standards in the area of mathematics in random thinking and do not handle the key knowledge that determines the DBA according to the eighth grade or those of the previous grades
