Resumen:
Background:
Nowadays, telecommunications market requirements are increasingly demanding: customers require quick responses to their needs to ease the purchase/customize of their products or services; on the other hand, Telcos must improve their time to market to face these challenges. Therefore, it is important to define mechanisms for value-added services provision to satisfy the specific requirements of Telcos (Availability and Performance) according to new market behavior. This work presents an architectural proposal for the integration of value-added services and information technologies services based on ESB and SLEE. The SLEE use allows the value-added services logic execution meets the high demanding Telco requirements such as high availability, high throughput and low latency; on the other hand, ESB and SOA ease the customization, sale and billing of services, updating the information of Telcos or outsourcing enterprises BSS/OSS systems. Thus, this proposal suggests a loosely coupled architecture for VAS execution, operation and maintenance.
Aims:
For the present study raised the following objectives: As a General Purpose, propose an architecture for the creation and implementation of value-added services, in contexts that do not have IMS. As specific objectives: i) define an architecture for creating and implementing based on SDP concept to develop value-added services in an NGN, EMCALI case. ii) Develop a study case with SIP capabilities to evaluate the proposed architecture. iii) To make technical recommendations to enable the implementation of value added services in a telecommunications operator, EMCALI case, meeting the high availability requirements.
Method(s):
For the realization of this project were conducted the following activities: i) Definition of technical criteria for the provision of VAS in an NGN in the Colombian context, paper prepared for the title of Electronic and Telecommunications Engineer of two undergraduate students and were attached to this project. In this work we studied the different platforms for the development of VAS and assessed the technical criteria proposed. ii) Studies were performed integration architectures and took the advice of the Computer Institute (INCO) of the Uruguay University. iii) The approach AITE as Telecommunications Integration Architecture ESB). iv) Development of a study case of value added was designed to assess the technical criteria established in AITE. This study case was evaluated in EMCALI Technology Platform.
Results:
This work gave the following results: i) a given knowledge base that allows telecommunications companies to clearly define RFI or RFP that meet their needs for technology acquisition. ii) An integration architecture platform AITE between telecommunications and information systems under the concepts of SDP and SOA, which facilitates the creation and implementation of value added services in an NGN without IMS contexts. iii) Definition of reference technical standards into context the conditions for the creation, implementation and deployment of VAS to easily and quickly. iv) A VAS developed entirely from its implementation in the telecommunications environment, and personalization and marketing service from a web environment and integrated with the commercial system.
