dc.description.abstract Background: Researching suggest inadecuate consume of micronutrients and pregestational diabetes mellitus are risk factors for developing of congenital anomalies of the kidney and urinary tract (CAKUT). Goal: Stablish association between innapropiate intake of micronutrients, mellitus diabetes and other risk factors with the risk in developping CAKUT. Methods: Analitic research, retrospective cases and controls model, using a survey, simple no randomized sampling, 1:3 pairing (127 cases, 381 controls), women with 20 or more pregnant weeks with ultrasonography by specialist in matern fetal medicine (July/2016 - November/2017). Results: Positive association for CAKUT developing in women with indigenous etnic group (OR 5,1 CI 2,69 - 9,92 p 0.00), don’t consume of folic acid (OR 2,34 IC 1,04 - 5,09 p 0,018), don’t consume calcium (OR 3,98 IC 1,56 - 9,64 p 0,0005), threath of preterm delivery (OR 6,52 IC 2,13 - 21,9 p 0,00), vibrations exposure (OR 2,3 IC 1,27 - 4,09 p 0,002) and syphilis infection (OR 12,2 IC 1,18 - 604,7 p 0,0004). Conclusions: The Department of Cauca has a high incidence of congenital abnormalities, the studied population, shows association between Indigenous etnic group, don’t consume of folic acid, don’t consume calcium, threath of preterm delivery, vibrations exposure and syphilis infection, with the development of CAKUT; must improve the prevention, early diagnosis, following, precous treatment for decreasing social health impact in a medium and long term. eng
