dc.description.abstract | This document is designed to provide teachers with a variety of optional activities that bring music and songs into the classrooms for teaching English to one of the most demanding groups of students: Adolescents. Songs introduce language in a significant context for students. Songs facilitate the practice of grammar and vocabulary in a very relaxed environment. The use of songs in the English classroom helps students reinforce the main language skills. Songs´ motivational component allows the teacher to change the pace of the class, since they are related to student’s experiences and likes. Their topics can be exploited and interpreted as a way of fostering student critical point of view. (Lopez, 1999) | en_US |
