Resumen:
Within subgrade stabilization alternatives, improvement with oversize material or “rajón” has traditionally stood, approximately 10-inches sized. Rajon forms a tick mineral skeleton which supports structure and favours moisture control. Nowadays, this technique does not have designed protocols in Colombia. The rise of mechanical properties of the pavement as a whole is evaluated in this research through a 2D-numerical-elastic modeling in a quantitative manner, by means of the improvement of soft subgrades with oversize material (rajón). Both comparative studies of performance and analysis of the results of the fundamental variables in pavement design are done from the 2D-numerical modellings. By doing so, this research provides clear guidelines regarding a design for a protocol regarding the improvement of mechanical properties in soft subgrades through the optimization of this with oversize material.
