Investigación del potencial geotérmico recreacional de una fuente termal en el Cauca – resguardo indígena de Guachicono – fase pre factibilidad

Abstract

La comunidad del Resguardo indígena de Guachicono, como muchas comunidades en el Cauca se prepara para los retos que se avecinan en el futuro, entre ellos el crecimiento de su población y por ende su sostenibilidad financiera. Particularmente, esta comunidad tiene un punto dentro de su resguardo donde existe una fuente termal; la comunidad persiste en el probable potencial que tuviera como proyecto recreativo (Proyecto recreativo las Chizas), pero la inexistencia de cualquier dato histórico acerca de algún estudio realizado a nacimientos termales en esta zona impide el progreso del proyecto. Se decide efectuar una investigación para determinar la factibilidad del sitio para aprovechamiento termal balneológico y determinar la posibilidad de crear el primer centro recreativo termal alimentado por el Volcán Sotará. Dentro de la metodología para el estudio, se incluyen mediciones de temperatura, calidad del agua, caudal y caracterización geológica-geotécnica. Las condiciones del sitio y la falta de datos históricos representan un gran desafío para configurar el proyecto, pero la comunidad ha enfocado sus esfuerzos en continuar con la investigación. Una de las conclusiones más importantes que se pueden inferir durante el desarrollo del proyecto es que mientras exista voluntad y determinación por parte de las comunidades involucradas, cualquier proyecto podrá llevarse a cabo.
