Resumen:
It is understanding of mathematical objects by students one of the main interests of teachers this research
focused attention on the characterization of levels of understanding expressed by five students of the course
Differential Equations of Engineering Systems program at a private university city of Popayan, Colombia, to
coordinate basically three different semiotic representations, algebraic, graphical and verbal, of the family of
solutions of linear differential equations of the first order, in a didactic situation. Understanding understanding
from the Theory of Semiotics Representation Registers raised by Duval (1993). This research consisted of a
micro-engineering work, Artigue (1995).
