Identificación de productos forestales no maderables asociados a los bosques de roble (Quercus humboldtii) en los municipios de Popayán y la Vega, departamento del Cauca. /

Abstract

Cauca, cuyo objetivo principal fue identificar los Productos Forestales No Maderables (PFNM) del bosque de roble (Quercus humboldtii) para clasificarlos de acuerdo al uso otorgado por cada una de las comunidades. La información fue obtenida a través de técnicas de observación de campo, entrevista y comunicación oral. La comunidad representada por informantes clave fueron quienes suministraron gran parte de la información. Se encontró que los PFNM identificados en el municipio de La Vega pertenecen a 10 categorías de uso genérico de las cuales se destacan “Alimentos y bebidas” y “Medicinal” representados por el 54.1% y 21.6%, respectivamente, del total de las especies encontradas. En cuanto al municipio de Popayán no se reportó el uso actual de PFNM, por lo tanto se recopiló información sobre los productos que fueron utilizados en el pasado. Los productos alimenticios más consumidos corresponden a la miel de abejas, la infusión a partir de la semilla de Q. humboldtii y callampas (Pleurotus ostreatus), sobre los cuales ya se ha reportado su composición físico-química. Se registró que los frutos del Panopsis rubra, son alimentos secundarios consumidos por los pobladores, cuyo análisis proximal reveló el contenido de cantidades apreciables de carbohidratos (85.43%), indicando que pueden ser muy provechosos como suministro de energía para el ser humano.

This study was conducted in the municipalities of La Vega and Popayán, Cauca Department, whose main objective was to identify the Non-Timber Forest Products (NTFPs) from the Oak Forest (Quercus humboldtii) to classify them according to the use given by each of the communities. The information was obtained through field observation and interview techniques, and oral communication. The community, represented by key informants, was the one who provided much of the information. It was found that the NTFPs identified in the town of La Vega belong to 10 categories of generic use including "Food and Drink" and "Medicinal" which represent 54,1% and 21,6%, respectively, of the total of the species found. As for settlement near the town of Popayan, current use of NTFPs was not reported, therefore the information used in this project is the one compiled in previous years. The most consumed foodstuffs are honey, infusion from the seeds of Q. humboldtii and callampas (Pleurotus ostreatus), about which, the physical-chemical composition has already been reported. It was recorded that the fruits of Panopsis rubra, are secondary foods consumed by people, whose proximate analysis revealed the contents of appreciable amounts of carbohydrate (85,43%) and protein (8,74%), indicating that they can be very helpful as a supply of energy for the human being.
