La práctica social Capacitación, acompañamiento y seguimiento en la implementación de huertas escolares en instituciones educativas del municipio de Popayán, se desarrolló en el marco del convenio entre la Unidad Municipal de Asistencia Técnica Agropecuaria – UMATA, la Universidad del Cauca, y la Fundación de Profesionales para el Desarrollo Integral Comunitario – PRODESIC, como parte del proyecto denominado, Establecimiento de una red de seguridad alimentaria y nutricional mediante la implementación de modelos productivos de hortalizas y el montaje de unidades agroalimentarias escolares en el municipio de Popayán, en las Instituciones educativas: I.E. Noroccidente La Tetilla, I.E. Cajete, I.E. Julumito Sede principal y escuela, I.E. Calibío, I.E Las Huacas Sede principal y dos escuelas las Huacas y los Llanos, I.E de Formación Toribío Maya, I.E. Ulloa sede Siloe, I.E. Liceo Nacional Alejandro de Humboldt y sus escuelas en Yanaconas y Pueblillo, I.E Los comuneros sede Galán Uno y I.E. El Mirador trabajo realizado con el Bachillerato Nocturno. Para dar cumplimiento a los objetivos se realizaron las siguientes actividades: socialización del proyecto a los directivos de las instituciones, realización de un diagnostico técnico agropecuario, como línea base para determinar las potencialidades y debilidades de cada uno de los colegios seleccionados, un plan de capacitación en temas relacionados con manejo agronómico de hortalizas, preparación de abonos orgánicos, preparación de biopreparados, acompañamiento en el montaje de las parcelas agroalimentarias el cual se ejecutó por medio de mingas con la comunidad, adicionalmente se efectuó el seguimiento de las actividades ya relacionadas. Mediante las anteriores actividades se logró mejorar la disponibilidad de alimentos en cada una de las instituciones beneficiadas.

To give fulfillment to the aims of the present work the following activities were realized: socialization of the project accomplishment of a diagnosis agricultural technician, as line bases the executives of the institutions to determine the potentials and weaknesses of each one of the selected colleges, a plan of training in topics related to agronomic managing of vegetables, preparation of organic credits, preparation of biopreparados, Besides a permanent accompaniment in the assembly of the food-processing plots which executed by means of mingas with the community, additional there was effected the follow-up of the already related activities. By means of the previous activities it was achieved to improve the food availability in each of the benefited institutions.
