Phenomenology of research within the Modern Languages program at the University of Cauca : The sense of research and the perception of the other as a research subject by a student, agraduate and a teacher

Abstract

The main objective of this study is to describe the sense that a student, a graduate and a teacher have of research in the Modern Languages English French Program and, consequently, which are their perceptions of the research subjects. The researchers describe and make a Hermeneutic Phenomenological analysis of the research processes the participants have experienced along their academic practices. The research project consists of the description and interpretation of the lived experience of academic research as a phenomenon. Through the implementation of the Existentials of Lived Experience, researchers intend to deepen into academic research practices and the understanding of these processes in the Life World of the participants. The idea was to establish an approximation to the sense the selected participants have of the experiences on academic research and the perceptions they have of the persons they make inquiries about in research practices. The description and interpretation of these experiences were analyzed through the implementation of theoretical-practical studies found in: Researching Lived Experience and Phenomenology of Practice; Meaning-Giving Methods in Phenomenological Research by Max Van Manen.

El objetivo principal del estudio es describir el sentido que tienen un estudiante, un graduado y un profesor de la investigación en el Programa de Licenciatura en Lenguas Modernas Inglés - Francés y cuáles son sus percepciones de los sujetos de la investigación. Los investigadores describen y hacen un análisis fenomenológico hermenéutico del proceso de investigación que los participantes han tenido a lo largo de sus prácticas académicas. El proyecto de investigación consiste en la descripción e interpretación de la experiencia vivida en investigación académica como fenómeno`. A través de la implementación de los Existenciales de la Experiencia Vivida, los investigadores tienen la intención de profundizar en las prácticas de la investigación académica y el entendimiento de estos procesos en el mundo de la vida de los participantes. La idea fue establecer una aproximación al sentido que dan los participantes seleccionados a la experiencia en investigación académica y las percepciones que ellos tienen de las personas investigadas. La descripción e interpretación de estas experiencias fueron analizadas a través de la implementación de estudios teóricos prácticos encontrados en: Researching Lived Experience and Phenomenology of Practice; Meaning-Giving Methods in Phenomenological Research, por Max Van Manen.
