The different learning styles in listening skills and oral production in EFL of the students from elementary to advanced levels of the Modern Language program English and French at Universidad del Cauca – Santander de Quilichao, 2021-1

Abstract

This research details a quantitative descriptive method on the different learning styles of the students from the I to the VI semester at Universidad del Cauca. This research aimed to characterize the participants into the four different learning styles (Active, Reflective, Theoretical and Pragmatic) according to the C.H.A.E.A questionnaire. The results showed a significant part of the participants had the Reflective style as predominant. In conclusion, according to the C.H.A.E.A questionnaire, most of the students from the I to the VI semester had a preference for the Reflective style while the Active style had the least preference.

Esta investigación detalla una metodología cuantitativa descriptiva de los diferentes estilos de aprendizaje de los estudiantes de I a VI semestre de la Universidad del Cauca. Esta investigación tuvo como objetivo caracterizar los participantes en 4 diferentes estilos de aprendizaje (Activo, Reflexivo, Teórico y Pragmático) de acuerdo al cuestionario C.H.A.E.A. Los resultados mostraron que una parte importante de los participantes tuvieron el estilo Reflexivo como predominante. Como resultado, acorde al cuestionario C.H.A.E.A, la mayoría de los estudiantes de I a VI semestre tuvieron preferencia por el estilo Reflexivo mientras que el estilo Activo fue el menos preferido.
