Las canciones, una manera divertida de aprender inglés

Abstract

El proyecto pedagógico investigativo (P.P.I) denominado “las canciones, una manera divertida de aprender inglés”, se desarrolló en la institución educativa John F. Kennedy en la ciudad de Popayán entre los años 2012 y2013 con niños de cuarto de básica primaria. Se tuvo en cuenta como tema central el fortalecimiento del proceso de adquisición del inglés de una manera significativa, al tiempo que motivara el deseo de aprender en los estudiantes de dicha institución, considerando así mismo los requerimientos del siglo XXI respecto a la necesidad de formar ciudadanos bilingües con capacidad para enfrentar los retos de esta modernidad. Por ende, siguiendo los parámetros del Ministerio de Educación Nacional (MEN) y los lineamientos curriculares de inglés (Ministerio de Educación Nacional, 2006), se buscó contribuir positivamente en este proceso de adquisición utilizando canciones en inglés como estrategia didáctica. Con el uso de dichas canciones los estudiantes pudieron adquirir significativamente elementos lingüísticos, tales como elementos fonéticos, semánticos y morfosintácticos que les permitieron comunicarse de una manera fluida y comprender pequeños enunciados presentes en su contexto y su vida diaria. Esta estrategia, además, contribuyó a mejorar dos de las competencias comunicativas básicas, como lo son el “listening” y el “speaking” de una forma divertida, animada y a su vez, pertinente y profunda, que responda a las exigencias del siglo XXI.

The Project of Pedagogical Research (PPR)called "songs, a fun way to learn English", developed at the John F. Kennedy School in the city of Popayan, between 2012 and 2013 with children from fourth grade. It was taken in account as the main theme the strengthening of the process of acquiring English in a meaningful way and motivating the desire to learn in the students of that institution, considering also the requirements of the XXI century about the need to train bilingual citizens with the ability to face the challenges of this modernity. Therefore, following the parameters of the Ministry of National Education (MEN) and curriculum guidelines on English (National Ministry of Education, 2006), it was sought to contribute positively to this acquisition process, by using songs in English as a teaching strategy. With the use of these songs, students succeeded in acquiring significant lylinguistic elements such as phonetic, semantic and morpho syntactic elements that allow them to communicate fluently and understand small statements present in their own context and in the daily life. Therefore these songs also improved two basic communication skills, such as "listening" and "speaking" in a fun, lively and also relevant and profound that corresponds to the requirements of the XXI century.
