| spa |
| dc.description.abstract | This research project, titled “The Caucano Violin of Quinamayó Resonates in Historical Memory” emerges as a response to the need to preserve and revitalize a cultural tradition that is fundamental to the Afro-descendant community of northern Cauca, specifically in Quinamayó. Through the dialogue of orally transmitted knowledge, this initiative seeks to build a historical memory that highlights the role of the Caucano violin as a symbol of social cohesion and identity strength. Led by teacher Darwin Andrés Castillo Larrahondo, a member of the CURPAQ community council, the project aims to contribute academically and culturally to the strengthening of the community’s ancestral legacy. Its justification lies in the value of the Caucano violin as an instrument of emancipation and unity, as well as in the urgent need to formally document this little-recorded cultural practice. Among its specific objectives are: identifying the sociocultural processes that enable the collective gathering of historical memory, preserving and promoting the musical tradition, encouraging the appropriation of knowledge transmission mechanisms, and showcasing the role of the Caucano violin as a tool for resistance and emancipation. The project is grounded in the principles of popular education as a space for knowledge exchange and the reconstruction of cultural identity, with the purpose of transforming realities through the preservation of ancestral memory. Its implementation will contribute to the strengthening of cultural identity and social cohesion in the village of Quinamayó, promoting the recognition and appreciation of this Caucano musical tradition both locally and beyond. | eng |
